Mastercard® Securecode protects you and the businesses where you shop by giving you an easy way to confirm your identity.
How it Works
- Whether you're using your USECU Credit or Debit Card, you may be asked to authenticate your purchase at participating merchants.
- If we have your cell phone on file, you'll receive a text message with a one-time passcode to complete your transaction. Messages originate from sender "732-87." If we don't have your cell phone, security questions will be used instead.
How can you tell you're shopping at a SecureCode merchant? Just look for the logo when providing your payment information at check out. If you have any questions, please contact us at 866.873.4968.
Real-Time Fraud Alerts
- USECU Credit and Debit Cards include free fraud alerts via text or interactive voice response. If your phone number of record is a text-enabled cell phone, we'll send you a text message regarding any suspicious transactions with instructions on what to do next.
- If your preferred contact is a landline, you'll receive an automated voice message with the ability to connect directly to our Fraud Center.
Not sure what phone number we have on file? Contact us at 866.873.4968 to ensure these alerts reach you if needed.
Protecting your card with microchip technology
All USECU Debit and Credit cards have an embedded microchip for extra security so you're better protected. The embedded microchip provides an added layer of protection when used at chip-enabled ATMs and merchant terminals. Keep in mind that if a terminal doesn't have the new technology, you can still swipe your card as you normally would.
If you have any questions please call us at 866.873.4968. Remember, your chip-enabled card offers you greater peace of mind by making your in-store purchase at chip-enabled terminals more secure.
