Smart Phone Banking:  iPhone® & Android™ - Available Now!

USE's FREE Smart Phone application for the iPhone and Android phones isn't Mobile Web banking transferred over to your Smart Phone.  Rather, you will benefit from a custom-designed mobile banking solution created on the iPhone & Android platforms for a very personalized Smart Phone banking experience.  All the activities listed below for Mobile Web banking are also available through USE's Smart Phone banking solutions.

Mobile banking applications are programs you can download to your mobile device. Applications or “apps” that let you monitor your finances and conduct certain transactions are increasing in popularity. To ensure the safety of your personal and account information, download mobile apps from reputable sources only. We encourage users to download the most recent version of our apps. You can download the USE Credit Union iPhoneTM App from the iTunes® App Store and and the USE Credit Union  Mobile App for AndroidTM from the Android Market. iPhone app requires iOS 3.1.3 or later.

Mobile Web Banking
USE Mobile Web Banking offers 24/7 real-time access to your accounts right from your Web-enabled cell phone, allowing you to conveniently and securely access your account information, pay your bills, transfer funds, or find a nearby ATM or Branch from your handheld mobile device. Not only is this service absolutely free, but it requires no special software. Mobile Web Banking is a browser-based application, so all you need is access to the Internet from your phone or PDA, and you're set to go.

If you have an Internet enabled mobile device and are already enrolled in USE Online Banking, you are ready to access your personal account information! No enrollment necessary. Simply bookmark USE's URL on your mobile device: www.usecu.org

Text Message Banking
Text Message / SMS Banking enables you to obtain account information from your cell phone or mobile device via text message (also known as SMS). Setup is easy and works through your established USE Online Banking account.

Follow these 3 simple steps to activate Text Message (SMS) Banking:

  1. Log into USE Online Banking (www.usecu.org)
  2. Click "Mobile Banking & Alerts" on the navigation bar
  3. Click "Activate" and follow the quick and easy instructions. Be sure to have your cell phone near you when you are setting up Text Message Banking, as you will be sent a code to enter as part of the activation process.
After you’ve signed up for Text Message / SMS Banking, you’ll be able to determine what information you want receive. Once you text a request, you'll get a text message response within one minute or less (depending on your mobile service provider). And best of all, the same security measures you enjoy with Online Banking and Mobile Banking will be in place with Text Message Banking.

USE’s Text Message / SMS Banking now lets you transfer funds between accounts, receive “Low Balance” alerts, and have two different phone numbers enrolled in Text Message / SMS Banking

When activated, you can then send the following keywords to 454545:

  • BAL = Primary account balance
  • BAL ALL = All account balances
  • BAL CHK = Checking account balances
  • BAL SAV = Saving account balances
  • LAST = Last 5 transactions
  • STOP = Deactivate service
  • TRANS = Transfer
  • HELP = Help on keywords
Security Information and Tips
When you use a mobile device account access, keep the following information and tips in mind:
  • To ensure the security and privacy of your account - you can only enroll in Text Message / SMS Banking while logged into your Online Banking account. You will then receive a unique code sent only to the device registered.
  • Texts received through USE’s Text Message / SMS Banking will NEVER contain any sensitive information such as user IDs, passwords, or complete account numbers. 
  • To keep others from accessing any information in your phone use the “keypad lock” or “phone lock” function on your mobile device when it is not in use.
  • Frequently delete text messages with sensitive information, especially before loaning out, discarding, or selling your mobile device.
  • Never send confidential information such as user IDs, passwords, or complete account numbers via Text Message.
Although USE offers Text Message / SMS Banking as a free service, you may be charged access rates depending on your carrier. Web access is needed to use Mobile Web Banking. Check with your service provider for details on specific fees and charges. Standard text messaging charges apply.
