Apple PayTM Now Available at USE Credit Union

Now you will be able to use your USE credit and debit cards with iPhone® 6 or 6 Plus and Apple Pay™, the easy, secure, and private way to pay. You can use Apple Pay in stores without swiping your cards and in apps without entering payment and contact information. Just pay with a single touch of your finger using Touch ID.

What is Apple Pay™?
Apple Pay is a mobile payment and digital wallet service that lets you quickly and easily make purchases at participating merchants using your compatible Apple device. Once you’ve loaded your USECU Platinum Debit or Credit Card into the Passbook App, simply hold your device near the merchant’s contactless reader with your finger on the Touch ID. It’s fast, secure and hassle-free!

Are There Any Fees for Using Apple Pay?

No. USECU offers Apple Pay at no charge to members, however message and data rates may apply from your mobile carrier.

Which USE Credit Union Cards Can I Enroll In Apple Pay?
Both our Platinum Debit and Credit cards can be used with Apple Pay.

How Do I Add My USE Credit Union Credit or Debit Card to Apple Pay?

Have the card you want to add ready, then following these steps:
1.    Lay your card on a flat surface
2.    Open “Settings”
3.    Tap “Passbook & Apple Pay”(soon to be known as Apple Wallet)
4.    Tap “Add Credit or Debit Card”
5.    Position your phone so your card fills the card outline on your screen
6.    Your card is now added to Apple Pay
7.    If prompted after adding the card, follow instruction to verify with USE. Our toll-free number is listed, but we also provide a short online form you may access in Online Banking.

How Do I Make My USE Credit Union Card My Default Card?
The credit or debit card associated with your iTunes account or the first card you add to Passbook will automatically be set as your default card. To change your default card:

1.    Open “Settings” 
2.    Tap “Passbook & Apple Pay”
3.    Tap “Default Card”
4.    Choose your USECU payment card

Is Apple Pay Secure?
Yes, when you use Apple Pay, your card number is converted to a unique Device Account number so that your card number is never stored in your phone or passed to the merchant. If your Apple® device is ever lost or stolen, you can use Find My iPhone to quickly put your device in Lost Mode to suspend Apple Pay, or you can wipe your device clean completely.

How Do I Pay with Apple Pay?

In-store:
Look for the contactless symbol at the register during checkout.           
 
Place your device near a reader and use your device’s Touch ID to authorize the transaction. A vibration and beep will indicate your transaction is complete.
 
To pay with an Apple Watch™, double-click the side button and hold the watch display up to the reader. A tap and beep will indicate the transaction is complete.

Just like with your physical card, you may be asked to sign a receipt.

When using a merchant app on your device:

Look for the Buy with Apple Pay or Apple Pay button.

During checkout, select Apple Pay as your method of payment and use Touch ID to authorize the transaction.

You can use Apple Pay at more than 220,000 locations worldwide. For the most current list of merchants, please click here.

How Do I Get a Refund for an Apple Pay Purchase?

Refunds are processed just as if you used your physical card, however you may be asked to provide the last four digits of your Device Account Number.

To locate the Device Account Number:
1.    Open “Settings”
2.    Tap “Passbook & Apple Pay”
3.    Tap the card
4.    Tap 

If the merchant needs additional details to process the refund, simply follow the same steps as if making a payment. Hold your device near the reader, select the card used to make the payment, and authorize a refund with the Touch ID passcode.

Will I Earn Rewards Points If I Use Apple Pay?
Yes, you continue to enjoy the same card benefits as with your physical card. This includes earning Rewards points on purchases.

What Devices are Compatible with Apple Pay?

iPhone 6 or iPhone 6 Plus to pay in store and within apps.
iPad Air 2 or iPad Mini 3 to pay within apps only.
Apple Watch to pay in store only.

Can I Add Multiple Cards to Apple Pay?

Yes. Apple Pay supports up to eight cards.

Can I Add My Card to Multiple Devices?
Yes. You can load the same card into as many as 10 devices.

Can I Remove My Card from Apple Pay?

To remove a card:
1.    Go to Settings > Passbook & Apple Pay
2.    Tap Remove Card

If I Remove My Card from Apple Pay, Can I Continue to Use the Physical Card?

Yes. Although the Device Account number will be removed from the Passbook App, your card number is not affected. Your physical credit or debit card will continue to work as always.

What Do I do If My Phone Is Lost or Stolen?
If you have Apple’s Find My iPhone App, you can put your phone in Lost Mode to suspend Apple Pay or clear your device remotely.

If you do not have the app for Lost Mode or to suspend Apple Pay, please call 866.873.4968 immediately to cancel your card(s). Representatives are available 24/7 to accept your lost/stolen report. Reporting the card(s) lost will cancel the Apple Pay Device Account Number.

Am I Liable for Unauthorized Apple Pay Transactions?
No. You’re not held responsible for unauthorized transactions made with your Apple Pay account. You still enjoy all of the benefits of your USECU Credit or Debit Card, including our Zero Liability policy which protects you from unauthorized purchases.

What If My Physical USE Credit Union Credit or Debit Card Is Lost or Stolen?
If your card is lost or stolen, please call 866.873.4968 immediately to cancel the card and order a replacement. Upon receipt, you will then register the new card information on you Apple device to use with Apple Pay. Representatives are available 24/7 to accept your lost/stolen report.

What If I Replace My Device?

You will need to go through the Apple Pay setup process to add your card(s) to the new device.

Does Apple Save My Transaction Information?

No. For your convenience your most recent purchases are kept in Passbook, but Apple does not store your transaction history and details.
